About Us
Artistry in Wood and Metal was created in 2005 by Lee Lesciotto as a way to promote his craft outside of traditional arts and craft fairs. Always a woodworker, Lee spent many years in the practical applications of this skill. He was constantly involved in home improvements of a functional nature, maintaining and improving his home through small remodeling jobs like building shelves to major structural changes like reconfiguring his basement into separate rooms.
Lee spent several years exploring the medium of photography. He focused mainly on landscapes and although he continues to take and develop photographs while traveling, his main focus has shifted.
When he began metal working classes through the Evanston Art Center, he began to create artistic pieces incorporating wood with metal. He has slowly and carefully developed unique designs from the functional to the artistic. Among his many pieces are tables, lamps, shelving units, plant stands, and candle holders. Each piece is individually designed and hand crafted. He works primarily with steel and copper metals, and adds a variety of woods, often cherry, oak, or walnut.
Each piece is designed and created by Lee.
